Does God Exist?
Maybe not.
Sound shocking?
What I mean by that is that perhaps the God you have rejected doesn’t exist.
Dick came from an ultra religious family. It was drummed into his head that only those who lived what he considered to be an unattainable lifestyle would enter heaven. So by 19, he was an atheist.
But according to the Bible, going to Heaven is a gift because God already paid the way. Jesus said, “He who believes in Me has everlasting life” (John 6:47). When Jesus died on the cross, He did everything that had to be done to get us to heaven. That leaves us nothing to do.
When Dick S. heard this for the first time, he was stunned. Determined to check out the Bible for himself, he spent a whole night reading. By morning’s light, he was confident he was going to be in heaven someday. He now realized he had rejected a god that never existed.
According to the Bible, God loves human beings so much that He came to this earth and took the punishment they deserve so that all who believe in Him alone will never have to face the eternal consequences of their sins.
Jesus said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
Is there proof of this Gods existence?
Absolutely.
Proof from Design
If you were walking through the woods and came across a watch, would you have any doubt you were looking at something created by a fellow intelligent being? When you look at yourself in the mirror you are beholding something incalculably more complex than a watch.
If you know anything about cars, you know that if you would remove something as simple as a distributor cap, your car would no longer run.
George Gallup, the man who devised the well-known opinion polls, remarked that he could prove God’s existence statistically. He said, “Take the human body alone-the chance that all the functions of the individual could just happen, is a statistical monstrosity.” This of course flies right in the face of the theory of evolution. But evolution has never been proven as a scientific fact and that is why it is called the theory of evolution.
There are definite scientific laws which contradict it; one of them being the fixity of species. Charles Darwin in his book, My Life and Letters, Volume One, page 210, wrote, “Not one change of species into another is on record. We cannot prove that a single species has been changed” (into another). You are what you are because you received 23 chromosomes from your mother and 23 from your father. It is an impossibility for one species to interbreed with another. In other words, it would be an impossibility for a cat and a dog to produce an offspring. This makes the story of Adam and Eve not only believable, but in accordance with scientific laws. Another law which renders the theory of evolution scientifically impossible is the Second Law of Thermodynamics which states that there is a tendency from the highly organized downwards toward the less organized. Never is there an increase of order without an outside force. Could the elements of this earth produce even the most simple tool by themselves? The universe is like a clock that was wound up and is slowly running down.
If the universe were to go on in its present state then according to scientists the sun will be a burnt out star in approximately 8 billion years. Time is not on the side of evolution since time brings only decay and disintegration.
If you research this yourself you will find that scientists who believe in evolution do so not because of scientific evidence but because of prejudice against creation. For example, Sir Arthur Keith said, “Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it because the only alternative is special creation, and that is unthinkable.” Does that sound like a man guided by scientific integrity?
