We are a group of generic
Christians who want to share with the world the most wonderful
news we have ever heard. Like most people, we were taught
we had to believe in Christ to go to heaven; but we were
also instructed there was more to it than just that. Some
of us were taught we had to get baptized and keep the commandments.
Others thought that Christ had to be received by personal
invitation or by praying the "sinner's prayer".
Either through personal study of the Bible or by someone's
explaining the Gospel to us, each one of us came to understand
and believe that the only condition to go to heaven was
to trust Christ alone and nothing more.
We hope
you'll take the time to check out what we believe and why
we believe it, so that you too can have the peace that comes
from knowing you will be spending eternity with God.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Jesus Christ, God incarnate, paid the full penalty for man's
sin when He died on the cross and proved that work was complete
by rising from the dead the third day (John 1:1), (Colossians
2:13).
The sole condition for receiving eternal salvation from hell
is faith (trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16).
Repentance, rightly defined as a change of mind from the Greek
word metanoia, involves a change in one's thinking, not one's
way of living or feeling. The Gospel of John was written to
convince people to believe in Christ (John 20:31), and he
never once uses the word repent, but uses the word believe
99 times.
No act of obedience, preceding or following faith in the Lord
Jesus Christ, such as commitment to obey, sorrow for sin,
turning from one's sin, baptism, or submission to the Lordship
of Christ, may be added to, or considered as a part of faith
as a condition for receiving eternal salvation (Romans 4:4,5),
(Ephesians 2:8,9).
The assurance of eternal salvation is based on God's promise
that everyone who trusts in Jesus Christ alone possesses eternal
life (First John 5:11-13).
Good works, which can and should follow regeneration, are
not necessary for assurance of eternal life (Titus 3:5).
All who believe in Christ as their Savior receive God's Holy
Spirit (Acts 10:43,44), (Ephesians 1:13,14).
The ultimate goal of the Holy Spirit's work in the believer's
life is to produce spiritual maturity reflected in consistent
Christ-like behavior and attitudes. Therefore, obedience to
the Word of God, while having nothing to do with receiving
eternal salvation from hell, is the responsibility of each
Christian. Those believers who yield in obedience are promised
blessings from the hand of God and eternal rewards in the
future (Romans 6:12,13), (Matthew 6:20).
However, the Bible does not teach that all believers will
yield in obedience. Those who do not yield to the ministry
of the Holy Spirit are defined as carnal believers. This believer,
though assured of salvation from hell, will incur God's chastening
here on earth and loss of rewards in heaven (First Corinthians
3:1-15; Hebrews 12:5,6).
Every Christian must stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ
to determine the amount of rewards he is going to receive
for the work he did for Christ. Those believers that did nothing
for Christ will receive no rewards (First Corinthians 3:15).
All those who never trusted Christ as their Savior will be
judged to determine the degree of punishment they will receive
in hell (Revelation 20:11-15).
